GlowActive AHA was obtained by extracting AHAs, enzymes, and antioxidants from apples, passion fruit, pineapple, and lime.

Enzymes gently “eat” clogged pores and congestion deep in the skin. Enzymes are special because they take only what they need (dead skin & proteins) and leave behind the healthy skin. This work leaves all skin types smooth, balanced, clear, and radiant.

Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) are water-soluble acids derived from fruits and plants. They’re considered a chemical exfoliant, which means that they use chemicals — aka acids or enzymes — to buff away dead skin cells.

The mechanism of action for AHAs is to bind to cell adhesion molecules and reduce the calcium ion concentration thus disrupting cellular adhesion. This results in the desquamation (shedding) of the outermost layer of skin. The reduction of calcium ion levels also promotes cell growth and retardation of cellular differentiation.
